MEET DR. CHYNA

The Heart Behind Kaya Co

Dr. Chyna
INTRODUCTION

About Me

Hello! My name is Chyna and I am a practicing Doctor of Physical Therapy, a Board-Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist, a Pelvic Floor Specialist, and most importantly, a mom!

I am passionate about supporting active moms and moms-to-be while navigating their fitness journey throughout this huge change in their life and identity. Having gone through my own pregnancy and postpartum journey, I learned the hard way that there is a HUGE gap in healthcare for newly postpartum mothers. I had a single postpartum check up at 6 weeks where I was told, “okay, you’re clear to resume your normal workouts.” When, here I was, still leaking every time I laughed too hard, coughed, or sneezed! I felt like I was really left in the dark to fend for myself.

Thankfully, I had the background as a pelvic floor physical therapist to be able to rehab my core and pelvic floor safely and address my urinary incontinence and prevent any major injuries postpartum. That's why I started Kaya Co, because my ultimate goal is to help and support pregnant and postpartum women return to fitness safely and build the confidence and strength to handle life and motherhood head on!

BACKGROUND

Credentials & Clinical Experience

I earned my Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences and pursued advanced training to become an orthopedic specialist.

Orthopedics & Pelvic Health Specialty

For the past 5 years, I’ve worked in outpatient orthopedics, treating a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions and guiding individuals through injury recovery and return to activity. I have also completed specialized training in pelvic floor physical therapy, allowing me to take a comprehensive, whole-body approach to rehab and performance.
